Iconeek is proud to introduce here a rare and highly attractive, Speedmaster  Professional  with moon phase and date indications: The « Speedymoon », Ref. ST 345.0809.

With an estimated production of around 1300 pieces, the Speedymoon is a very sought-after model among Omega collectors. Omega launched the model in 1985, featuring a date and moon phases indications, with a caliber 866, a modified version of the 861. With movement numbers ranging from 44.122.xxx to 48.223.xxx, the production run is estimated between 1985 and 1988.

The model is a fine water-resistant,  tonneau-shaped, stainless steel chronograph wristwatch with date, moon phases and bracelet. The model has a three-body construction: a large stainless steel asymmetric case with lyre lugs, round chronograph buttons and crown protected by a crown guard in the band, a snap on black bezel with tachometer, a screwed “No Nasa” case back with raised Speedmaster logo on its center.

Under the hesalyte crystal, with engraved Omega logo in its center, we find a mint matte black dial with luminous painted baton indexes, four subsidiary dials for the the seconds at 9, the 12-hour register at 6, the  30-minute register at 3, the date combined with the “Large” moon phases at 12, luminous white Baton hands, outer minute/seconds and 1/5th seconds divisions.

Inside ticks a caliber 866 (1985-1988), mechanical, manual-winding, pink finish, with 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, four-arm monometallic balance, shock-absorbers, self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator with fine adjustment. Dial, case and movement are signed. The present watch comes with the correct bracelet Ref. 1450/808 (1986-1990).

According to the Omega Extract from the Archives, the present watch was released on August 21, 1986 for Switzerland. A rare gem as well as a collector!!

Condition: 8.5/10, in very good overall condition, some signs of wear in places, some small scratches on the hesalite glass, great dial, movement and bracelet.
